Being a Healthy Single Parent

Being a single mother is hard enough when your children are the most important factor of your life, so in turn your own health and body play second best in the line of importance. This is something that every single parent is guilty of doing even without knowing. Time seems to accelerate throughout the day and taking any time at all to sit down and relax seems like the most impossible thing to do. Rest and relax is something that every human body needs so it is vital that you take time out, just having a cup of tea with your feet up gives your batteries a recharge. Running along side this comes a regular sleep pattern. Trying to get a minimum of 7 hours sleep each night should be your target.

With the day eating up the hours, you sometimes forget to sit down and eat a proper meal, rather than picking at a snack here and there. The body is a machine that needs to have fuel thus being food and without food it will not function correctly. This then puts an impact and strain on your health. Taking a daily supplement should be something that you consider, this then gives you an added boost. This becomes an invisible and secret weapon for your body. You will start to feel rejuvenated and the daily tasks will be ticked off your list with ease.

With all the running around that you do, school runs, after school activities, cooking and cleaning it is easy to overlook something called playing and fun! Kids always want your attention and you will find yourself saying "let me finish and I will be with you" but certain things can wait especially cleaning, it is not going anywhere so take that time and have some fun with your children. Besides this you should make sure that you take time out to have some adult playtime, try not to let yourself be consumed by children 100% of the time. We all need our own space and adult time. This reminds us that we are a person and not just a parent!
